Casual Blend

COLOUR CARNIVAL
http://colorcarnivalmeme.blogspot.com/2010/01/color-carnival-35.html

CASUAL BLEND.

The cathedral shadows stretched their length
Along the wooden pews,
And all about was painted
In grey and muted hues.
The voices of the visitors
Were hushed, somber and low;
Only the stained glass windows
Had a pale ethereal glow.
And then I turned a corner
And found this bright display!
The corner saved for children
When they chanced to come this way.
Bright chairs, bright rug, a colour feast,
Almost a mini-riot!
All among the sanctity
And the order and the quiet.

Should step back and think carefully...

grey and muted for the adults...
and brilliant colours for the children..!!!

This is a special poem - with a lovely sense of space and moment.

Hi Rinkly! Thanks for stopping by today. I very much enjoyed this poem. It's upbeat, cheerful and very nicely composed.

Love the 'mini-riot' of color. Love the poem leading us to a treasured corner.
