Reflecting on Change

REFLECTIONS

REFLECTING ON CHANGE

On a recent visit to Cape Town
We went to the beach.
*
The sea there
Is icy cold all year,
Whatever the weather.
It is not until the Atlantic meets the Indian Ocean
That it becomes benign
*
We left Africa
Nearly forty years ago.
At that time,
The Africans were not allowed on
White Beaches!
*
Since then,
Times have changed.
These pools have been built
For all.
*
I reflected
On the pleasant sight
Of young brown bodies
Enjoying the water.
*
Not all change is for the worse!
*

Wonderful poem and capture of the reflections by the pool.

Love the blend of verbal and visual reflections! The photo suggests that a special group of people are waiting to dive into a new world!

Nice shot, but a beautiful post. Some changes are definitely for the good. Kathy

This is one change that is very good. It's hard for me to imagine that simalr things went on many years ago in parts of the USA too. Sometimes change can be like a pendulum and swing too far if we are not careful.

Beautiful pool pic! I wish that was seasonal here today, but snow is always a whisper away now.

Thank you for linking up!

Both reflections are beautiful. I remember when things were the same here in the US. Change can often be very good.
