Tousled Treasure

SHADOW SHOT

TOUSLED TREASURE

Harry had been to Nippers.
He'd just come in from a swim.
He was prancing around in my back-yard
When I took this shot of him.
He was standing in his swimmers,
Underneath a shady tree,
Not leaping around grimacing
And whooping-it-up with glee.
And the shadows caressed his cheek-bones
And his strong chin was defined,
While the tousled hair looked burnished
Against dark green behind.
He's always very handsome,
But the shadows played a part
In turning a pleasant little boy
Into a work of art.

What a beautiful little face. Is this a grandson or a son when he was small? Handsome fellow.

Wow, Brenda, I don't know what took my breath away: the excellent portrait, a beautiful subject or your stunning verse.
