Two children, some time in November, stayed at Grandma's for the night.
She gave them both a pen and paper and suggested that they write.
Later Jim was at the table, writing very hard because
It was coming-up for Christmas and he was writing to Santa Claus.
Sister Ginnie sat beside him; both of them were quite engrossed,
When Jim began to shout so loudly you could have heard him coast to coast!
'Dear Santa! Please bring me a skate-board!' he shouted out while writing still.
Sister Ginnie, interrupted, raised her head! If looks could kill!
'Why the shouting, Jim?' she asked him 'Santa isn't deaf! Gee whiz!'
'I know he isn't' Jim responded, 'But I know for certain Grandma IS!'

I loved that--especially since I'm totally deaf in one ear!
You have one very sharp grandson.
What a giggle. Children are so delightful. Thanks for the mirth.
Hey ho! You've been rumbled ;-)
What fun! Children are such a delightful mixture of perception and self-centredness. Lovely poem - made me laugh.
Sounds dead-on!
What a great story - kids are so sharp aren't they!
