Cascades

This week's contribution to WATERY WEDNESDAY
http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/

CASCADES

It looks rather staged and unlikely, a postcardy kind of a shot,
But I was the one with camera and I know it was certainly not!
Australian waterfalls never could be likened to those of renown,
There's no 'smoke-that-thunders' about them, as they pose for a shot and fall down.
But the falls of the Atherton area, have a picture-book tropical air,
And the palm trees that gather about them are green all the year, never bare.
There's Mena and then there's Mungalli  and then just a short way away
We come to this one, Millaa Millaa,  which seems to demand we should stay.
Australia's noted for desert, Australia's noted for beach,
But it also is noted for cascades.
So why don't you try some of each?

That is a fantastic photograph. You have framed the waterfall beautifully. It makes me want to step into the picture and join the people on the beach.

Your poem tells much about Australia's cascades.

Thanks for your visit to My World today..(temporarily in NYC)..
I am so enjoying being back on your site, enjoying your poetry...I haven't as yet managed to transfer all my "favorites" to the new laptop, and so I am slowly catching up on them one by one!

It does look like a fairy tale spot. I would love to linger there. It is a part of Australia I haven't seen. Beautiful photo.

As a hydrologist, I approve of this post. Love that waterfall, and better yet, and as you say, would like to visit in person ... just to hear its sound.
