One Chair

I saw this serene picture on Britt Arnhild's Blog and I publish it with her permission.
I got the strong sensation that, behind the glass, all was far from serene!

ONE CHAIR.

One chair on a balcony.
A chair with a view.
Yet there is no viewer.

Is she inside in the gloom,
Afraid to come out?
Does she fear the  world,
Only glimpsing it, briefly,
When she dares to sit out on her chair
After dark,
When no-one can see her?

Does she watch the laughing throng
Passing beneath her feet
With envy
Or distaste?

Does that reckless mixing of bodies
Attract or scare her?
Is she in there right now
Reading 'Pride and Prejudice',
And waiting for Mr D'Arcy?

Will he ever break in
Through those bland blinds
And love her?

I shall watch and wait.
And when I see two chairs on the balcony
I shall breathe a sight of relief.

So perceptive, as things are never as they seem.. thank you so much for your continued support, my dear friend... I am okay... some days are challenging, and sometimes life... is... but I am well... it is what it is... and it is the hard times, that teach us and make us grow...

Yours,

Ruthie

Imagination is a wonderful thing. That you can see a photo and write a poem about it is an art.

I like the photo a lot and mostly the poem you wrote!
*Yes, my bag was made of kangaroo skin! Although I'm against of killing animals to take their skin, I can't forget how happy I felt when my aunt gave me this bag after she returned from her trip to Australia, where her daughter lives since today.

You missed the whole point Brenda :))))

The other chair is inside the home with Darcy sitting on it and Betty sitting on his lap..!!!!

A tragic tale indeed!
Yes, one always speculates about things like this.

Ah, I hope the 2nd chair gets a desirable occupant.

I would be thinking that the second chair is broken and the first chair is waiting for its mate to return. What a great poem to go with the picture.

A great take on Inside for this weeks Theme Thursday. Thanks for playing, can't wait to see what you do with next weeks theme.

God bless.
