162. Beauty in the Bark

A little puzzle today. Eucalyptus trees or, as we usually know them, Gum Trees, bear very unremarkable leaves. However, they make up for this with the beauty of their bark. I have chosen three different examples and matched them with little verses. If you wish, you can match the verse to the bark. Answers tomorrow.

BEAUTY IN THE BARK

A. Silver-shadowed, silver streaked,
Stark against the moon,
Human forms in silhouette,
Dawn will follow soon.

B.Grey and grotesque mountains
Backed by a greyer sky,
And bats approaching silently
Dropping from on high.

C. Dark clouds blown into an orange sky;
The hint of a cloudy stain,
And wild things flying upward
Into the driving rain.

It will be fun to see if I guessed correctly! When we lived in Southern CA we had Eucalyptus bordering our yard. They had a wonderful scent but were oh so messy with the slightest of breezes. Of course the hawks that called them home dropping their leftovers didn't help much!

I'll give it a try Brenda.

#1--C
#2--A
#3--B

And if that is correct it is just a lucky guess on my part.

Bear((( )))

Hello Brenda - I found my way to your blog at last. When you have posted comments over on BTB the URL has a comma rather than a full-stop so that the link doesn't work.
I love photos of bark. I used to have a eucalyptus in my garden (a couple of homes ago.)

Now that I have found you I will add you to my blogroll!
