Rowing Down the River

WEEKEND REFLECTIONS

ROWING DOWN THE RIVER.
(To the old tune 'Cruising Down the River')

Rowing down the river
On a sunny Melbourne day.
The rowing eight;
A cox as mate,
Whom they must all obey!
The muscles they are straining
In a very manly way!
Rowing down the river
On a sunny Melbourne day.
*
As each heart pounds,
The city sounds
Fade into background noise.
They feather oars,
To much applause,
Which everyone enjoys!
*
Just nine of them together;
Their bodies all in tune.
Rowing down the Yarra
On a Melbourne afternoon.

MY SURVIVAL
(An Acrostic)

Millions of dollars, lost overnight.
Yells of pure horror as money took flight!
*
Seasoned investors went to the wall!
Under the mattress? No good at all!
Reeling from losses the Big Bosses dropped!
Values declined! It couldn't be stopped!
I, not being wealthy, felt not too much pain;
Virtue rewarded, I surfaced again.
A lesson for everyone! Don't amass wealth!
Losing it's never too good for the health!
