THREE WORD WEDNESDAY
http://www.threewordwednesday.com/2010/10/3ww-ccx.html
This week's words 'absolve. hiss. ridicule'
REVENGE!
I absolve myself of sin!
This week's words 'absolve. hiss. ridicule'
REVENGE!
I absolve myself of sin!
After all, one of us had to win!
Too long I'd been held up to ridicule
By all your beastly friends at school.
'Stupid!' some of them used to hiss;
'What kind of idiot is this?
Got no brains and small and skinny!
Look at him, chaps! The boy's a ninny!'
You were popular, I was not!
Look at all the mates you'd got!
You'd stand on the sidelines with a grin,
Enjoying the predicament I was in!
Your 'followers' used to kick and beat me
Every time they chanced to meet me!
Helpless against your gang's abuses
I was always covered in bruises!
How many years did I endure it!
Nothing could help, no-one could cure it!
You were clever at hiding your tracks;
It was always behind the teachers' backs.
*
But oh what passion was in my soul!
Revenge ! Revenge became my goal.
I tracked you down today in the street;
Did you think it was chance that made us meet?
Oh no! I'd been stalking you for years,
However chancy today appears.
You looked so smart in your office gear!
You must have been thirty-five this year.
I was dressed in my faded jeans;
Clearly a man of little means.
Of course, you never recognised me!
Or remembered how you once despised me!
I was dressed in my faded jeans;
Clearly a man of little means.
Of course, you never recognised me!
Or remembered how you once despised me!
We stood at the crossing, the road was busy.
Suddenly I became rather dizzy!
I lurched and knocked you under a bus!
And didn't the law make an awful fuss!
But I was fully in charge of my wits!
My doctor agreed I had fainting fits.
So now let the rest of my life begin!
As I said
One of us had to win.

ROAD RAGE
(An Acrostic)
Ridiculous behaviour! Thoughtless and obscene!
Only an idiot would rage, if you know what I mean.
As though we can't cooperate and use the roads together
Decently taking heed of special needs and tricky weather.
*
Rude gestures never ever help they only make us mad
As for fights, there's not a one that isn't really bad!
Get wise, you drivers! Learn to share the only roads we've got!
Ending as a statistic doesn't help an awful lot!

LOL... Love the twist at the end. Great use of the words and a fine fable, as well.
Happy Wednesday!
What a revenge in the first one, and what good advice in the next!

Great poems! The first one conveyed the bullied one's pain so well. Pity someone had to die so that he could stop feeling like a loser.
I share your views about road rage too. Some folks seem to think that honking the horn will magically part vehicles!
I hope revenge did help him to seize back his life..your poem really packed a punch!..Jae
Brilliant, and I love the Maniac cartoon! hehe
Definitely true about road rage! Both of these struck a chord with me particularly today. Nice job. :D
I'm glad, in the end, he let go of his rage and began his life. It's too hard to hate for so long.
Your rhymes are always entertaining. My one little niggle would be, how exactly do you hiss the word "moron"? (I know, I can be terribly pedantic. I blame my upbringing!)
Its a nice management lesson - "Let go"...How much the word lacks this?
Nice ending.
