THE TRUCKIES' MEMORIAL
We passed it on a busy road, a sort of wayside shrine,
With all the names engraved on it..... sadly, line after line.
Truck-drivers names from down the years, killed while plying their trade.
A sad and mournful litany, a sorrowful cavalcade.
Maybe we should spare a glance when we see a passing truck,
And whisper underneath our breath 'Mind how you go! Good luck!'

Thats a very sad sight to see!
Tragic. I've never seen anything like his before.

The plight of the truck drivers who spend most of their time on the road. They do deserve our prayers and how sweet to put up a memorial for them.
This is sad but it looks a peaceful place.
That is really sad.
I too, have never seen anything like this before.
That's very moving! I've never seen a memorial like that and I think it's wonderful! Thanks for a great post! Hope your week is going well!

I think it's wonderful they have this memorial. And what a great response to Carmi's "on the road" theme.
This is a powerful reminder that the road takes as well. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, sobering message. You have such a way of taking Thematic themes and making them your own.
What a wonderful memorial! I had no idea it existed, but am very touched. Thank you so much for sharing. ~ks
Road tolls are often forgotten after a few years.
Good that you have a plague for the truckies.
So sad to hear that.
Happy PH, mine is posted here.
Have a great weekend.
An amazing little corner of the world! Beautifully presented!
Sad. My prayer goes for them all. I'm very touched.

Wow, that certainly is an unusual one! It's very beautiful too, but there are so many names. :(
Nice verse, and nice, touching take on the theme.
My photohunt post is up
My father was a truck driver for years and this memorial somehow touches a chord. It's a beautiful memorial. Nice take on our theme. have a nice weekend!
Good take for the theme. I am always amazed at all of the different types of memorials you can find in Australia.
