Back Yard Blunder

Winter Garden
Flowery

Winter Garden
Boring

BACK YARD BLUNDER

Not a garden that one could call one!
I admit it's a terribly small one!
But when it's at its best
It's a haven of rest.
(I'm sure all of you can recall one!)
*
But, last winter it wasn't too pretty;
It was drab and that's oh such a pity.
It was winter, I know,
But, with no flowers to grow,
It was not worth a stab at a ditty!
*
The impatiens has caught a disease!
In the winter it flowers with ease.
It creates such a colour
When winter gets duller,
And a chill wanders in on the breeze.
*
You can see, in the photo above,
The blossoming I'm speaking of,
All the brave little flowers
We liked to call ours
Which made this a haven to love.
*
Now they're gone and the Nursery says 'Well,
The future is too hard to tell;
Is the illness forever
Or will we be clever;
Will we have some new strong ones to sell?'
*
Impatiens! I beg you return!
You set-off every shrub, every fern!
Without you the summer
Will be a real bummer!
And Patience I really can't learn!
