SHADOW SHOT

KEEPING INFORMED!
Children screaming like things let free.
The wild waves roaring on the rolling sea.
The sea-gulls swooping with a noisy screech.
The loud kerfuffle of the summer beach.
Leave me be, let me read my paper,
Away from any noisy caper.
Grandfathers have the right to refuse
To be tempted away from the daily news.

ReplyDeleteGreat shadow shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute poem and perfect shadow. It looks like a lovely day at the beach!
ReplyDeleteNice composition, all the way through.
ReplyDeleteOnce I was a cheerful bloke,
ReplyDeleteEasy with a quip or joke.
Everything was going grand
Until I came here to the sand.
Now I sit beside the beach,
With sun and waves in easy reach,
Sad because I can't harass
The kids back playing on my grass.
Well. That is genuinely awful.
Yours is quite nice.
Cheers!

What could be better than summer at the beach? The only thing missing is the cup of coffee.
ReplyDeleteYour poem is perfect, Brenda. That could be my father-in-law sitting there. He was fanatical about reading the news.
ReplyDeleteAh, if only the sun and the shadows at the beach would return lickety-split! I'm waiting, I'm waiting! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's exactly where I want to be right now! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh...summer...thanks for warming my heart for a second or two.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem to go along with your beach photo.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a bit of warmth right about now. And I'm not even a beach person!
That looks lovely and warm!
ReplyDeleteHe is so serious reading it. I am now following your blog Ms. Brenda.
ReplyDeleteIcicles for Outdoor Wednesday, have a nice day!
