Exit 2009

EXIT 2009

Where has it gone? That fading year?
It's said goodbye, that is very clear.
Are we still living where we were?
Has some scandal caused a stir?
Are you friends again with Sue?
Has one grandchild become two?
Are a few more wrinkles on your face?
All I know is the wretched pace
Is picking-up a fearful speed!
So much to do! So much to read!
So much to hope for and to fear!
Think I'll have another go next year!

  6. I'm new to your blog, Wrinkly. I love the fact that you're blogging despite the wrinkles. I love the democracy of the blog world.

It's good to meet you, a fellow Australian and to read your rhymes.

  11. Hello there Brenda/Rinkly (not sure which you prefer to be called!).
Thanks for your lovely comment over at mine- the sleigh was really easy to make, just from a mould. Maybe I shouldn't have said that, and kept you thinking I was really talented!
Happy New Year, and I hope 2010 is really good to you in every way.

  13. Very nice!
Yes, too fast the years do pass. When we were young they went so slow, we couldn't wait to be grown.
Now we yell "stop, slow down, I've much left undone and there is so little time left".

Thanks for visiting me, Brenda; you're welcome to write a poem about anything that might inspire you on my blog. It's always a treat to read your poetry! And that's a pretty amazing photo on your newest post--rain had to be a welcome relief.
