THAT'S MY WORLD
SCENIC SUNDAY
PADDLE YOUR OWN
There are no rapids here,
White Water isn't seen!
No rocks! No waterfalls! No Thrills!
Just a very gentle scene.
For this is the Murray River
Which gently flows along
And if you came for excitement
You wouldn't quite belong.
But you can 'paddle your own canoe'
For days and days and days,
Passing the mangroves and the gums,
And the cows and sheep that graze.
The River has fallen on hard times,
Because of recurrent drought,
But still its waters benefit
The farmland round about.

The romantic Murray here:
Paddling is nice and quiet, time to look around. The poem is lovely.I used to paddle on the Rhein river in Basel. Only one way, the current was strong.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite kind of paddling is of the feet in any drop of water, from puddle to ocean!

Looks like a nice shadow shot here! Though I would not like to be stranded in those shadows - no thrills, may may be, but ominous to look into!
