ERROL FLYNN
As Shakespeare said, and said quite truly,
Of the handsome and unruly,
'Golden boys and girls all must
As chimney-sweepers, come to dust'.
This handsome creature, Errol Flynn,
Who put the ladies in a spin,
And caused the silver screen to glow,
Was born a hundred years ago!
And so Tasmania celebrates
One of its most auspicious dates.
'Mad and Bad' but charming too.
It's sad what a hundred years can do!
Another heart-throb here:
Oh my grandmother adored him! Because of that, I have seen his movies. He was quite the swashbuckling swordsman.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know he was born in Tasmania, and yes, it's sad that life is so beautiful and so short.
ReplyDeleteI did love to see his pictures, he was gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI read David Niven's books, The Moon's a Balloon and Bring on The Empty Horses and Errol Flynn features in there. They certainly had some rip roaring times together.
There's hundreds of unsung heart-throbs out there...
ReplyDeleteno one writes poems about them :(((
