MELLOW YELLOW
AMBER CAPTURE
(A Cinquain)
Captured.
In honey gold.
Fluttering then smothered
In hardening bubbles of gum.
Insects.

A LITTLE WHITE HAT
"A little white hat and a big blue sea.
And no-one in the world but me.
A little blue truck to carry sand.
And no-one around to hold my hand."
He doesn't hear his Grandma sigh
'How fast the years go flying by.'

I enjoyed both of them!

ReplyDeletewe have kauri tree gums, and sometimes, they trap insects like your photo.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting amber capture, and a sweet photo of your grandson. Yes, they do grow quickly, my granddaughter is 6...seems like just yesterday I was rocking her to sleep in my arms.
